GRACE VADEBONCOEUR

(nee MUNRO)

Grace Vadeboncoeur (nee Munro) passed away February 22, 2026 in Victoria at the age of 97. Her husband Noel and son Noel Junior, brother Bill Munro, and sisters, Betty Beatty and Margaret Wakeling predeceased her. She is survived by her daughter Diane and sons, Neil and Gerald as well as ten grandchildren.

In her early 30s, while raising four children, Grace returned to the University of Manitoba to earn her teaching credentials. She subsequently enjoyed a very successful teaching career in elementary classrooms and as a resource teacher.

Grace enjoyed water skiing, playing tennis, going for walks, and visiting with friends and family. She loved bird watching and instilled an appreciation of nature in her children. Grace was an active, determined, intelligent and brave woman. She will be missed.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • The Vadeboncouer family were our neighbors on Lyndale Drive for years. My Mum, Norma Peterson & Grace were best friends who raised their kids together as both their husbands were away working. They were both teachers & wonderful mothers. My brothers John & Paul & myself have fond memories of Auntie Grace. - Posted by: cathy rutherford (Neighour) on: Apr 01, 2026

  • My condolences to Gerald and the Vadeboncoeur family. Mrs. Vadeboncoeur was my grade 2 teacher at Nordale School. Her son, Gerald and I were close friends in elementary school. I have fond memories of spending time at their cottage at Delta Beach and playing hockey in their backyard rink. She was a very caring and patient teacher. May God bless and guide her in her next journey. - Posted by: Stephen Lee (Former Student) on: Mar 31, 2026
